Expectation, Forecasting and Disappointment

Expectation, Forecasting and Disappointment

 Bon Ami Laishram

Expectation needs to be defined before drawing the content. So, expectation is the event which is considered to happen as the outcome of the particular force and its always uncertain in natureExpectation causes emotional disappointment if the expected outcome doesn’t match the actual outcome. Expecting from a subject or an object which isn't in relation with us or sharing one sided relationship with us doesn’t cause that volume of emotional disappointment as the degree of importance isn’t that high. For instance, a normal audience doesn’t fall in depression in the mere defeat of the team which he was expecting to be the victor of the football match or tennis match. There will be a little disappointment but that disappointment  won’t last long as he shares one sided relationship with his favorite players and he is eligible enough to understand that a team or a player will be emerge as a victor while the other one would loss.

Expectation turns killer when it comes to the mutual relation or circle consisting of known people who are interdepending on one another for prosperous lives. Expecting a good mark in exam from ourselves and expecting good exam results by our families from us invites happiness, however, if they fail to meet their expectation , it’ll be a big disappointment or stress for them which won’t die down sooner.

Expecting love from someone you love as the return of the amount of love and care you have for the person is even more deadly than other forms of expectation. We have been taught about karma since our childhood. We have been taught that our present will decide our future coarse of action and the Newton’s Third Law of Motion as well which states To every action, there is always an opposite and equal reaction. Its natural that anyone who receives such learnings since childhood would make a move to expect something from someone who is in equal position as per their feelings. Therefore, to love is the birth right and to love back is the sole right of the opposite person. Application of cruel forces to get back love just to fulfill the expectation is not  fair job to implement because its about love and building lives out of it, its not war for dominance over a territory or team attack to score a goal in soccer match.

A happily married couple can expect love and care from each other. They can expect to remain dedicated to each other for the rest of their lives and so on. They have all rights to impose things  on one another and they can explore their personal spaces as they are considered to be one soul-two bodies aftermath  while friends don’t have those rights to explore deep in their particular personal spaces. There is full fledge right to expect something from each other if you are bound with such ties where there is no room for disbelief and disloyalty. And there is negligible chance to face disappointment if there is no hidden secret beneath the bed.

Mutual friends of different and opposite genders often go on to the level of romantic relationship if they are passionately in love and affection with each other. However, the two ways process isn’t possible in every connection. Feeling used to be one way with no same feeling from the another side at the time. Despite there is absence of signal from the opposite side, the person would expect a lot or a little to get back love in return for the love. Its natural. Expectation always rises even though you falsely convince yourself that you have no expectation from the opposite side. You always expect positive result by keeping some positive scores or good deeds extended to the opposite person in mind. The negative score may overweight the positive side score but you would still rely on the handful of the your positive scores. You build the great expectation in this manner despite convincing yourself that you have no expectation.

The great expectation would crumble down in the case of one way love and this would result in big disappointment with a urge to toil for getting the expected result. The person won’t be in complete sense. There would be distraction from everything, there would be anxiety all around and the world would mean nothing to the person. There won’t be focus on statutory works .The person would feel that the physical wound causes less harm than the mental harm the person is suffering from. These would continue for a certain period of time depending on the healing ability of the person.

Time is the main healing factor. The person would get better with time. It would be hazardous for a person with mental problem or a sensitive person. Every victim of disappointment is all sensitive ones. Sensitivity would add more mental pain which is the matter of heart according to literature angle. Visiting psychiatrist for counseling would be a better treatment to heal rather than narrating tragic stories to all the close friends and seeking their casual advices to heal. A bunch of advices would add fuel to the existing problem than seeking a way out from the problem. Hence, attending counseling is the best bet for such critical stage.

The stories of disappointment are non-fictional and it always pulls the person to the reverse direction to drop at nowhere. There is a little chance of rising in the upward direction with time. Till the time , you would lose some important aspects that you have acquired throughout your lifetime. You have to pay heavy penalty for predicting an outcome of the event over which you have no control. Therefore, there won’t be any disappointment if there is no expectation on anyone or anything, there won’t be any disappointment if there is no prediction of the future based on a handful of the events occurred. We are too conditional regarding every relation and exercise. Shedding down this culture of being conditional would help a lot.We exercise no control over the future outcomes. Expecting to make good coffee by following the cooking manual book and such events are exceptional. This is really important for the mental well being of the world.

Book Review: Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan

Book Review: Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan Bon Ami Laishram This nonfiction work, authored by Herbert P. Bix and published in 2000, delves into the life of Emperor Hirohito during the Second World War. Bix explores the controversial roles of the emperor in triggering the war and his involvement in war crimes, presenting Hirohito as a central figure in plotting the conflict. Japan's emergence as a military superpower in the late 19th century, following the Meiji Restoration under Emperor Meiji, set the stage for Hirohito's reign. The rapid modernization propelled Japan into a prominent position in the East, marked by naval prowess and expansionist ambitions. The nation's efficient blend of traditional warfare skills and modern weaponry, demonstrated in conflicts like the First and Second Sino-Japanese Wars, showcased Japan's military might. The Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, where Japan triumphed over the formidable European power Russia, further so...

Book Review: Start-Up Nation

Book Review: Start-Up Nation Bon Ami Laishram Start-Up Nation is the book by Dan Senor & Saul Singer. The book was published in 2009 but I have recently completed this book. This is the story of Israel rapid economic growth despite being surrounded by not so friendly neighbours, lack of natural resources, small area size and so on. Israel is the only Jewish state in the world and the controversies follow along. Muslim world doesn’t recognised Israel as a state except the UAE & Bahrain. It’s because the land is under the radars of two different schools of thought. One is being the Jews who consider the land as their divine homeland and other being the Arabs who consider the State of Israel as occupying force. However, there is change in the Muslim world as well. A couple of them came forward for diplomatic ties with Israel as they witnessed the persistent advancement of Israel in economy, technology, leadership. The epitome of Arab world also started secret diplomacy...

Reevaluating Human Resource Management: Beyond Gender Stereotypes and Misunderstandings

Reevaluating Human Resource Management: Beyond Gender Stereotypes and Misunderstandings                              Bon Ami Laishram  Human Resource Management (HRM) has often been stereotyped as a "women's job" in both business schools and informal industry settings. This perception stemmed from the belief that qualities such as empathy, listening skills, and patience—traits commonly associated with women—were essential to succeed in HR roles. While these attributes are undoubtedly valuable in HR, the landscape has evolved significantly over the years. Today, HR is no longer seen through a gendered lens, and such stereotyping has diminished substantially. The role of HR has expanded, and gender is no longer a determining factor in hiring decisions. Although some companies may still exhibit gender bias in their selection processes, this is becoming increasingly rare. HR is a critical and often challenging f...
