The Ramayana has been told repeatedly through various media like scriptures, drama, cinema, devotional songs for years. It's even reachable to even non Hindu through these media. It's a household tale which mothers or grandparents used to narrate to their children when they weren't able to effort toys to entertain their children. The saga of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita has been echoing for centuries and centuries. Neither invading forces nor the destruction of temples by the invading forces could bury the saga. The saga has been immortalized by the devotees.

Lord Ram is said be incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The supreme lord is said to be reincarnated as Lord Krishna after leaving mortal instrument of Lord Ram. Devotees have been in love with the pious and generous traits of Lord Ram over Lord Krishna. Lord Ram is the Prince of Ayodhaya and then the King of Ayodhaya. He bows to be with Goddess Sita as his only consort and bows never to remarry any other woman. He breaks the trend or fashion of marrying multiple consorts by royal family members. His father himself has three consorts. Lord Ram and Goddess Sita are made for each other. They are devoted couple. 

Goddess Sita along with Prince Laskhman accompanied Lord Ram in exile during which King Ravana abducted Goddess Sita for a sake of revenge. King Ravana imprisoned Goddess Sita at one of the most beautiful gardens in Lanka with his royal lady guards at her service with a term to accept his proposal to be his royal consort. King Ravana didn't even touch her while in his captivity. 

Lord Ram rescued her back from the captivity after killing King Ravana in face off combat. Lord Ram didn't even doubt a little on her purity. But as the idol whom the world looked upon as a figure of justice, he couldn't skip testing the purity of his wife before officially holding hands again since her abduction.

Lord Ram has been questioned for testing his loyal wife even after all that she devoted and suffered by the generations. The generations also found answer within their question. Lord Ram being  the face of principles and justice, he couldn't just alter the principle and refrain his wife from the law of the land which were meant for all including the royalists. He has that power to skip but he didn't as the law of land was important being the head & face of the state which was later known as ' Ram Rajya '.

 ' Ram Rajya ' is the model of the state where there are only peace, prosperity, happiness, justice prevails across the directions. Ayodhaya had achieved the status under the administration of Lord Ram as the kind of Ayodhaya.

Goddess Sita is addressed as Mother Sita with love and devotion. Some section of Ayodhaya sparked question on purity of their queen and then it was spreaded all over the state. The wave reached the ears of Lord Ram. Lord Ram was pushed into dilemma between his lovely wife, his people, his family honour. At last, being the servant of Ayodhaya and the eldest son of the family, he choose to sacrifice his wife for the sake of his people and his family's honour with huge rock on his heart. Mother Sita was pregnant with his child at the time. He ordered his brother Prince Laskhman to drop her at far off forest with all cares. She was adopted by Sage Valmiki in his ashram. Lord Ram lived alone with her memories in the palace. Mother Sita gave birth to twins. Sage Valmiki educated them with warfare skills and other subjects.

Mother Sita once felt into suspicious if her husband at distant had remarried some other woman as his consort. Her suspicion had fallen. Lord Ram couldn't consider any other woman other than Mother Sita as his consort. He was actually torturing himself at the other end. He was more for the public than his own. He was the servant of his state which his forefathers developed with honours. He was the guardian of those honours earned by his father and forefathers. He couldn't unseen all these responsibilities just to keep his heart. Therefore, he choose to broke his own heart and suffer. And he suffered till the end. 

Lord Ram is the model of ideal man in the following generations and then. The ideal man who fixed his loyalty to only a single woman in his entire life, the ideal man who keeps his nation's pride, people, family above his personal comfort, the ideal man who didn't misuse power even though he has the power to do so , that's Lord Ram. Lord Ram is chosen over Lord Krishna for all his ideal characters despite being the same supreme lord.

  Book Review: Start-Up Nation Bon Ami Laishram Start-Up Nation is the book by Dan Senor & Saul Singer. The book was published in 2009 but I have recently completed this book.
