Defining Maturity

Defining Maturity

Bon Ami Laishram

As far as the mentality is concerned maturity is a state of mind that is capable of identifying the surrounding around, dealing with it and maintaining proper relation with the surrounding and the sense of adjustability as well. However, I am afraid that the generation is diverted itself away from this state of mind. People are not mature enough to adjust themselves in the environment or to tolerate the environment for a short period of time. People have their own set of principles. Some of them are too serious about with their principles that they are willing to go against that even if the need arises. These people often consider framing a set of principles and following them as mature mind but it's not. Following just your own principles without keeping in mind the impact of outcomes on others is just a cheap act of selfishness not maturity.

Life is beautiful and the surroundings make it colourful. Surroundings include peer, family and others. If you choose your surrounding appropriately then your life will be beautiful and colourful with no advent of autumn. However , if you choose mascariders then you may feel beautiful and colourful initially but you will be left with betrayal after some moments when you and their so called set of principles crosses swords. They won't let you win against their so called principles, the ultimate sign of maturity. You will be deserted with your trust being murdered in such a manner that you won't able to trust anyone in future. This is the height of maturity according to a section of people  in the society.

Maturity is all about maintaining calmness even at the most dreaded moment. Its about tolerance, Its about patience. Its about adjustability. Its about adaptability. Its about loyalty. Its about sacrificing a drop of our happiness out of 100 droplets for the sake of one who really cares for us. Its about dropping selfishness and self set hypothesis which may turn against you anytime and create more arch rivals than friends in nearby future. Its about ability to deal our own problems without emitting frustration on the one who really loves and cares about you. And last but not the least, its about forgiveness.

Book Review: Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan

Book Review: Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan Bon Ami Laishram This nonfiction work, authored by Herbert P. Bix and published in 2000, delves into the life of Emperor Hirohito during the Second World War. Bix explores the controversial roles of the emperor in triggering the war and his involvement in war crimes, presenting Hirohito as a central figure in plotting the conflict. Japan's emergence as a military superpower in the late 19th century, following the Meiji Restoration under Emperor Meiji, set the stage for Hirohito's reign. The rapid modernization propelled Japan into a prominent position in the East, marked by naval prowess and expansionist ambitions. The nation's efficient blend of traditional warfare skills and modern weaponry, demonstrated in conflicts like the First and Second Sino-Japanese Wars, showcased Japan's military might. The Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, where Japan triumphed over the formidable European power Russia, further so...

Book Review: Start-Up Nation

Book Review: Start-Up Nation Bon Ami Laishram Start-Up Nation is the book by Dan Senor & Saul Singer. The book was published in 2009 but I have recently completed this book. This is the story of Israel rapid economic growth despite being surrounded by not so friendly neighbours, lack of natural resources, small area size and so on. Israel is the only Jewish state in the world and the controversies follow along. Muslim world doesn’t recognised Israel as a state except the UAE & Bahrain. It’s because the land is under the radars of two different schools of thought. One is being the Jews who consider the land as their divine homeland and other being the Arabs who consider the State of Israel as occupying force. However, there is change in the Muslim world as well. A couple of them came forward for diplomatic ties with Israel as they witnessed the persistent advancement of Israel in economy, technology, leadership. The epitome of Arab world also started secret diplomacy...

Reevaluating Human Resource Management: Beyond Gender Stereotypes and Misunderstandings

Reevaluating Human Resource Management: Beyond Gender Stereotypes and Misunderstandings                              Bon Ami Laishram  Human Resource Management (HRM) has often been stereotyped as a "women's job" in both business schools and informal industry settings. This perception stemmed from the belief that qualities such as empathy, listening skills, and patience—traits commonly associated with women—were essential to succeed in HR roles. While these attributes are undoubtedly valuable in HR, the landscape has evolved significantly over the years. Today, HR is no longer seen through a gendered lens, and such stereotyping has diminished substantially. The role of HR has expanded, and gender is no longer a determining factor in hiring decisions. Although some companies may still exhibit gender bias in their selection processes, this is becoming increasingly rare. HR is a critical and often challenging f...
